Volunteer
We could not do this important work without our volunteers. LifeWire is always in need of volunteers to staff our after-hours hotline, provide clerical assistance, support our clients, help plan fundraisers, and do much more. Plus, our volunteer program is flexible and fun! Your energy and compassion can make all the difference in the world to a victim of domestic violence. As an LifeWire volunteer you will learn new skills, gain valuable information and have the satisfaction of working to end domestic violence. Volunteer Opportunities Direct Service Volunteers work directly with the victims of domestic violence that LifeWire serves. LifeWire’s comprehensive training program prepares volunteers to assist survivors of domestic violence in dealing with the traumatic impact of family violence. Our 25-hour training session includes domestic violence education, crisis intervention skills, working with children who have witnessed domestic violence and much more. Training Cost - $100 Fee waived for those who volunteer with LifeWire after training completion. For more information on LifeWire volunteer opportunities, contact Kelsey Mussman, Volunteer Program Coordinator at Kelsey Mussman or 425-562-8840 x-346. Support Service Volunteers work with our agency in other areas. LifeWire has opportunities to help with administration, fundraising, community education and much more. For more information on LifeWire event and fundraising volunteer opportunities, contact Tiffany Solack, Event Manager at 425-562-8840 ext. 249 or Tiffany Solack. Our Support Service Volunteers do not need to complete the 25-Hour Direct Service Training. You are welcome to attend the first night of training if interested on finding out about our history, programs and services. Spring Training Date is Monday, March 5th from 6-9 PM. Learn More About Becoming an LifeWire Volunteer Take some time to read through our volunteer information. Because of the nature of our work, it is important to ensure that our volunteers are well trained, responsible and sensitive to the issues of domestic violence. Note that all volunteer jobs require an orientation to LifeWire and domestic violence. We ask that all LifeWire volunteers attend training for multiple reasons, but most importantly so you will have the tools you need to have a rewarding volunteer experience. |
