Who We Are
LifeWire has been providing domestic violence services and programs to the community since 1982. We have grown to become one of Washington State’s largest domestic violence service providers and a recognized leader in the field. We work closely with local and regional human service agencies to provide life-saving and life-changing programs and services to help victims and their children separate safely from an abuser, restore trust, develop self-sufficiency and build peaceful families.

Community Impact
Our clients represent a broad cross-section of the population spanning gender, age, and race. Since 1982 LifeWire has provided safety, support, and accessibility to 115,000 victims of domestic violence. In 2011 LifeWire:
  1. Served 5,179 individuals

  2. Answered 10,716 help line calls

  3. Educated and trained 23,163 individuals in our community

  4. Worked with over 553 volunteers who provided 15,857 hours of volunteer service of volunteer service

Requests for services continue to increase. Even if we were 100% funded and staffed, the need would still be greater than the resources available. We depend on funding from the government, corporation and foundation grants, private donations, as well as the generous support of the communities located throughout North and East King County that give back to their neighbors in need through donations and volunteerism.

I used to live in fear – now I am safe thanks to LifeWire.
